An orthopaedic surgeon at Letterkenny has clarified the situation in the hospital as ‘disasterous’.
Letterkenny University Hospital has been among the worst affected around the country concerning the numbers of patients waiting for admission.
Yesterday there were 37 people waiting on trolleys — the numbers are coming down to 23 today.
Peter O’Rourke says optional surgeries is still cancelled in the hospital.
