Saving even one life Is Fantastic contribution to humanity: DGP
SRINAGAR: underscores the demand for operating an emergency ambulance service in the country like other countries the Director General of Police, S P Vaid Saturday explained that saving even one life is very good contribution to humanity. Vaid was speaking on the inaugural use of the two day live demonstration on ENT surgeries programme known as Rhinoplasty and FESS in Police Hospital here Saturday.
Throughout the occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Sachdeva, Director ENT MAX Hospital and Dr. Varinder Gatsas conducted live surgeries which were shown live to the audience of doctors and paramedics.
Vaid, who was the first guest on the first session, highlighted the significance of the convention and stated that police functions as an emergency department in several circumstances. “Due to the character of the duties and in normal course police men and officers also face health issues. Keeping this in view we are making all efforts to provide better healthcare facilities to our men and women,” Vaid said.
While complementing organizers for holding the summit, Vaid estimated that in near future doctors and experts in the country and abroad will visit Kashmir to participate in these conferences.
Speaking about the dial 108 Emergency Ambulance Service found under a centrally sponsored scheme the country Vaid explained that if the strategy was launched in the country “we will be able to conserve a number of lives in road accidents, heart attacks and other injuries”.
In the event, Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem-U-Rehman reported that organizing such seminars was commendable since young doctors were exposed to experienced doctors of the country. While appreciating the efforts of the police hospital he stated that the hospital must continue such endeavors in future. He said that emergency care has gotten quite essential so that valuable resides in road traffic accidents and other emergency cases where quite less time is available for survival of patients have been saved.
Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital, Dr Bilal Raja explained that the programme was the third of its kind this year which provided platform to the doctors in the hospital, city and periphery to watch quite experienced and qualified doctors from other parts of state conducting surgeries and interact them live during the operation.
He thanked Dr. Sanjeev Sachdeva, Director ENT MAX Hospital and Dr. Varinder Gatsas for attending the seminar and sharing their valuable experiences.
Dr. Rouf Ahmad, HoD ENT, Govt. Medical College, Srinagar who is the organizing chairman of the event stated that these events were essential for imparting practical knowledge to doctors and paramedics. He stated that pooling of professional doctors in the peripheries is very essential which will help in providing health services to individuals from a lot of places near to their homes.
